Chase Freedom Home Improvement Cash Back Credit Card

ads>

chase freedom home improvement cash back cardChase just re-released a credit card with a rewards offer that benefits home improvers: the Chase Freedom.

This card competes with the Discover More Card, which offers 5% back on home improvement from April-June but has historically had a low $20 cash back limit for these types of purchases.

If you’re in the market for a new credit card in general, especially after all the holiday spending, this is a great card and worth a look.

Here’s the features we like:

  • 1% back on all purchases. Chase will send you a check for the 1% so it’s not restricted to spending ‘points’ on pre-defined offers. This is better than Discover’s 1% back for most people because Discover only pays .25% on the first $3000 in purchases.
  • 3% back on special rotating categories – gas, restaurants, home improvement. Chase is a little vague online but it looks like the home improvement offer will apply to purchases sometime in the Spring. Expect that the categories will rotate. We can’t find a limit on the cash back but would hope its higher with the 3% instead of 5% cash back.
  • $50 casbback bonus when you make your first purchase. We think this is one of the best incentives for signing up for this card – $50 in your pocket for the minimal effort of filling out an application and getting approved.
  • No annual fee.

And here’s the sign-up link with additional information: Chase Freedom.1
