Features from The Humble Brag #11

December 21, 2012 | by Jocie (email) |

Instead of the normal Humble Brag link party this week, we are co-hosting a special link party to support the Newtown area United Way in support of the Sandy Hook Elementary and the town. We hope you’ll stop by and link up. For every link added to the party $1 will be donated! Pretty cool, huh?

Since the link party this week is a special one, I decided to share the features from last week’s party and our weekly ad space winner in a separate post. Don’t worry, things will be back to normal next week! haha

Some Brag-Worthy Projects and Recipes

As always, everything that was linked up was amazing and inspirational. I will be so glad when Christmas is over so I am not so hungry every time I write the features post – all these treats are killing me! haha While all projects and recipes were great, here were a few that spoke to me…

My mom and grandmother passed down their fudge recipe when I became an adult, and its one of my favorite Christmas treats. Since my grandmother doesn’t do as much baking anymore, I usually bring her some along with her Christmas gift! I immediately had warm fuzzies when Tanya from twelveOeight linked up her Milk Chocolate Fudge recipe! It’s similar to my grandmothers, but I really love that Tanya added Peppermint to the top – so pretty!

Amy from Clippie Dips is new to our link party and shared her felt bunting pillow tutorial. I love how cheerful and bright it is! Welcome, Amy and thanks for sharing such a great project.

Diana from Diana Rambles shared her recipe for Apple Crisp Baked Brie. It looks super yummy and pretty easy to make. I’m debating making this for our Baltimore Bloggers Holiday Party! Btw, if you are a blogger in the Baltimore area, let me know!!

Sheila from Plum Doodles really does have impeccable taste! I LOVE this burlap rose topiary, which is no good for my Christmas tree addiction. Just sayin’ you may see a little Christmas tree from me that looks a lot like this.

I am soooo jealous of this DIY Farmhouse Table from Ashley at Attempts at Domestication!! If we ever move into a bigger house, I am totally doing this.

Last but maybe my favorite, Jen from Frazzled 5 shares her version of the paper pine cone! I love the baseball paper – I would never have thought baseball could look that classy.

Our #1 Brag

This week, our ad winner was chosen at random using random.org. Out of 58 entries, number 44 was chosen – Keri from Shaken Together! I would have featured this recipe anyway, because it looks completely delicious – sugar cookies with Butterfingers in them. Woah! She calls them Jingle Sugar Cookies.

Silhouette Cameo Giveaway

Over the last 3 weeks we have been running a giveaway for a Silhouette Cameo. I just so happened to also get one, so believe me when I say it is a super cool gadget. So far, I have made Christmas gift tags, felt letters for a friend, and I haven’t even gotten started on my to-do list. It is amazing!

Rafflecopter (the program we used to keep track of all the entries) picked a random winner – number 326 out of 925, an entry from sharing the giveaway on Facebook. Congrats to Loretta from A Finn In The Kitchen! I’m hoping she’ll share some of her fab Silhouette projects with us!

Free Stuff

If you didn’t win the Silhouette, not to worry, we love to give away stuff. As always, we will be giving away free ad space to one lucky link party goer. So join this weeks or next weeks link party here and be sure to subscribe for the weekly email reminder so you won’t forget!

We also constantly give away free stuff in our Reader Rewards center, so stop on by and check it out! Right now we have some Chalkboard Vinyl up for auction that I am totally drooling over. 🙂

I also really like the table. I’ve seen some really neat finished products for tables and they all seem pretty straightforward and doable. Add it to the list I guess!
