How to Get 100% Free Hardwood Flooring Samples
If you’re considering hardwoods, and possibly buying from an online hardwood flooring vendor, this post is definitely for you. Before taking the plunge and shelling out hundreds (or thousands) on hardwood floors, you should get a few sample boards and try them in your own home. Hardwoods can look great at the store or in catalog pictures, but their lighting won’t be exactly the same as your home’s, and the store doesn’t have your furniture, cabinets, or paint colors. There’s just no substitute for having a few boards to try out in your home.
All the major hardwood flooring stores (Lumber Liquidators, Fast Floors, Green Floors, iFloor, etc.) allow you to order hardwood samples and pay a small fee + shipping costs to have them delivered. We think that’s a great idea, even if you have to spend a few bucks to get the samples to your door.
Where to Get Free Floor Samples
But no other store we’ve found gives you the benefit of Super Floor Center – free hardwood flooring samples shipped right to your door… and they pay the shipping cost. We ordered several pieces of their Handscraped Oak product, a prefinished oak floor made by Hamilton Flooring. You can see four shades in the picture above (Dark Gunstock, Golden Saddle, Gunstock, and Butterscotch).
After we placed the order, a sales representative from Super Floor Center contact us via e-mail to confirm the order (likely a measure to prevent fraudulent shipping). We replied with our shipping address to confirm, and the boards arrived 3 days later via UPS.
Why Give Out Samples for Free?
Why does Super Floor Center send the samples? They’re hoping to earn your business for the big purchase. We respect that goal; but just remember: free samples alone shouldn’t dictate which wood you buy. Even if you have to pay a few bucks at one of the other stores, it’s well worth it to get a wide variety of samples to try out, and narrow down. The reality is that all hardwoods are not created the same. You should also research finishes and warranties before making the big commitment.
What do you think? Do you know of another 100% free sample site? If so, let us know in the comments so we can add it here.
