Kitchen Wine Bar Design with Extra Storage Space

ads>

Our family vacation this year took us to a house in the Sandbridge community of Virginia Beach.  The neighborhood is full of beautiful homes with great appointments, many of which lie beachside on the Atlantic Ocean (ours didn’t).

We stayed in a relatively modest four bedroom reverse floorplan with an updated kitchen.  One of the features we liked in this place the most was their kitchen wine bar.  The bar design featured a dual-temperature-zone wine refrigerator, wine rack, wine glass holders, and a beutiful silestone countertop with a ceramic masonry-style backsplash.  Perfect for serving guests, don’t you think?

As an added bonus, the wine bar adds a boatload of kitchen storage with honey-stained maple cabinets that match the standard base and wall cabinets found in the rest of the kitchen.  The design made good use of a 7 foot area of the wall that would have gone unused otherwise.

We thought you might enjoy the pics, just in case you’ve got 7 extra feet of wall area in your kitchen or dining room looking for a good use!

What do you think? Does your house have a wine bar?  How did you incorporate it?
