  • Joseph Stowell responds...
    July 19th, 2010 5:19 pm

I’ll stick with someone living, otherwise there would be way too many choices. It would be great to have the President, Barack Obama and his family, but dealing with the Secret Service (and what’s so secret about them any how?) and the media would be hellish, so no to that. That goes with pretty much any political figure as well as any actor or actress, or entertainer. Hmmm, that really narrows the field a bit. I would say just about any soldier fighting in Iraq or Afganistan. That would mean that they would get to leave that area, if only for just a short while.

  • Madonna L. Cramer responds...
    July 19th, 2010 5:39 pm

I’m going with a “fantasy-never-gonna-happen” guest. Soooooo for your pleasure, my special Enjoy Your Deck guest would be: Benjamin Franklin.

Now don’t laugh and think pudgy, old Ben. Apparently Ben was the life of whatever party he attended. The ladies loved him, he told fantastic stories, he wasn’t afraid to drink or eat (obviously) and was an extremely intelligent person. You could laugh, dine and talk with him all night. Wouldn’t we all love to have a well-rounded guest like Ben. Today everyone would ask for his cell number.

  • Lori M. responds...
    July 19th, 2010 6:29 pm

If it could be anyone, not matter how unlikely, I’d choose Jon Stewart. I think his take on politics in brilliant, and I can just imagine the laughter that would ensue.
