Every year some friends host a pumpkin carving contest. They gather together a handful of friends and setup teams who have one hour to carve a pumpkin from start to finish. It’s a lot of fun, and if you know me, you know that I love competition. This year was different because Jocie and I were on different teams. Her team put together a very creative pumpkin, and I thought for sure it would win first place.

Even the “burger bun” is a pumpkin. Pretty sweet right?

My team went in a different direction. We carved one of the pigs from Angry Birds with a pumpkin hat. On the backside, we attempted to create the image of the Red Bird that would glow on the wall behind the pumpkin. It was pretty ambitious for only having one hour. Too bad it didn’t really work.

Honorable mention goes to the team that created the alien bursting from the chest pumpkin.
