Have you ever been to a painting party before? I never have, although I have done a few wine and pottery nights with my besties. Recently, DecoArt contacted me and asked if I would be willing to host a Social Artworking Party for my friends. It was a super easy “YES!”The girls came with margaritas and snacks in hand, but were more than a little hesitant. I am probably one of the most artistic/crafty ones in the group, although my cousin, Naomi and friend, Amy are pretty darn talented too. But for everyone else in the group,...

This has been a project long in the works, and I am so excited to finally share with you my Chalk Paint Tutorial: how I gave some old chairs a dramatic new look!Remember a few months ago when Ethan’s aunt and uncle gave us a bunch of family heirlooms, like a 48 star American flag, an antique dresser for Lucy’s room, and the secretary desk that is currently in our dining room? Well, we also were passed six beautiful dining chairs that were built by Ethan’s grandfather! When we got the chairs, they needed some serious...

I guess I’ve gone a bit crazy with succulent garden ideas since Home Depot asked me to participate in their Pinterest Inspired Succulent Garden DIH workshop! On Tuesday, you may have seen my fabulous succulent terrarium I made using poplar wood and a mason jar. I had some succulents left over and just couldn’t stop myself, so I made three more easy succulent gardens that each only took 5 minutes or less to make! Let me know which is your favorite. Birdcage Succulent Garden I had this idea in the back of my mind for a while...

A month or so ago, I was invited to participate in the WayFair/Hometalk blogger challenge. Our mission was simple, chose one of three WayFair items to makeover: a mirror, shelf, or lampshade. Then, chose one of three themes: geometric pattern, incorporating rope, or black & white. WayFair sent us the product and a $25 gift card to cover supplies…if we chose to accept their challenge.Ethan and I are not ones to walk away from a challenge, especially Ethan. He has been known to do some crazy food challenges, like eat 9 butter...

Are you getting tired of hearing about my dining room makeover yet? I might be… Lol. For the last month, I’ve been working super hard on revamping my dining room. The project I have been anticipating the most is my chandelier! Plus, it ended up being one of the cheapest decor item, costing only $30. No lie!My vision for the chandelier actually was born almost 2 years ago when Ethan went to a Shaw/HGTV event and designed a room along with our friend, Carmen at The Decorating Diva. He and Carmen came up with this fabulous drum...

If you follow the “other” side of the blog, One Project Closer, you may have seen Ethan’s big reveal of our Pottery Barn knock-off farmhouse style dining room table. I’m hoping you haven’t seen it, because I have been dying to tell you about it! But don’t worry, even if you saw the finished DIY Farmhouse Table, you can still get the full story here that wasn’t told by Ethan….he’s a man of few words. Lol.Pottery Barn Inspiration I was tired of our old, round dining room table. It wasn’t...

It’s been months in the making, but I finally have my kitchen makeover to share with you!!“Before” Kitchen Last June, I began the makeover of my kitchen….yes, 9 months ago. It wasn’t that big of a makeover, but I’ve gotten a bit distracted and anxious to start new projects. The kitchen makeover started because, while I have a 7 year old kitchen, the design and feel was darker and more formal than my style has become. I was hoping to transform the kitchen into something bright and trendy. That being...

One of our favorite Easter traditions is going to our local pottery shop and painting Easter eggs with my mom. We started when Izzie was just two months old, at the suggestion of my cousin who has carried on this tradition with her girls. The hope is that we will have a pottery egg for each year of the girl’s life and can give them to the girls as a keepsake when they move out of the house. Until then, we proudly display them each Easter. If you need some more Easter craft idea be sure to check out my Easter/Spring mantle, 5 Minutes...

Let me catch you up… First, we sold all our furniture, and we painted using Ben Moore Green Cast. Its made a HUGE difference in brightening up the room and giving it some style.
