Love, Kisses & Valentine Wishes

I have never gotten too much into decorating for Valentine’s Day, largely because my girls’ birthdays are on January 24th and February 11th. I’m usually so wrapped up in party planning and birthday decorating, Valentine’s Day is a bit much. But this year, Ethan had recently cut me up a bunch of pallets and I was excited to do some art! *Keep reading to find out how you can get a FREE Valentine’s Day Pallet!* On a side note, check back in the next week or two – Ethan and I will be doing a video and detailed...

Holiday Treat Party & Some Christmas Highlights

Happy New Year! This holiday season just flew by. We had a ton of fun with friends and family and enjoyed some precious moments at home with our girls. As they grow, Christmas has been filled with increasing joy in sharing the gospel story with them and seeing their excitement each time they hear it. We hope that your family also made lots of great memories, too! Christmas Highlights We took a break from the blog for the most part over the holiday. I put out a few posts, including our weekly link party, and occasionally posted to FB and...

Christmas Pallet Subway Art

Don’t forget to enter our Giveaway for a FREE Silhouette Cameo! You may have seen on Facebook that I occasionally get the pleasure of hanging out with Liz at Naptime Decorator and her friends for their craft night. This was my second craft night with Liz. My first craft night was just before Halloween and I made a Candy Corn frame. It was an epic fail. Seriously. I used Elmer’s Glue and it melted the candy corn. It didn’t look so bad after I started over and used hot glue.I looked like a real winner with Liz’s friends....

Making a Framed Glitter Reindeer

Making a Framed Glitter Reindeer

Reindeer are all the rage this Christmas, have you noticed? While I love me a reindeer, I didn’t really want to spend the money on a reindeer bust for the wall (is that even the right terminology) and, while the reindeer pillows are super cute, that a little more time-consuming than I wanted. When I saw this cute, unfinished wood reindeer head of Micheal’s a plan started to develop. It was regularly $2.99 but I think it was 50%. Add in the cost of glitter and leftover burlap from a previous project, and on old reject frame...

How to Make a Felt Advent Calendar

How to Make a Felt Advent Calendar

Last year I made a paper advent calendar. It was really a special time for our family that we used to move the focus of Christmas away from presents on onto Jesus, family, and togetherness. Each day we would read the Christmas story and act it out using the plastic Nativity set from my mom. Then, we would read that day’s activity from the calendar. Izzie LOVED it. Seriously, about once a month since last Christmas she asks when it will be #6 with hot chocolate!  lol! I guess that was her favorite advent activity. While the paper...

So Much To Be Thankful For!
Jocie | November 27, 2012

Another Thanksgiving has past. I’m a little sad it’s over because it was filled with so many good memories, laughs with the family, and of course, yummy food. In our family, holidays aren’t usually just one day, but the holiday itself and all the days around it. lol. More like the 12 days of Thanksgiving…okay, maybe not THAT many. We started with the evening before Thanksgiving celebrating with Fred and Kim and their family. Then, we hosted a mid-day meal at our house on Thanksgiving. Friday, we went to Ethan’s...

How to Make Dollar Store Christmas Trees

How to Make Dollar Store Christmas Trees

I began this Christmas tree endeavor with one really good idea and it snowballed into making MANY trees! No surprise there. All the trees turned out super cute and, best of all, they were all made for under $5 each and from materials mostly purchased at the Dollar Store! Crazy, huh? So here’s how I made four FAB trees and the number is still growing. Plastic Spoon Christmas Tree If you’re a fan of Pinterest, you know that about 6 months ago plastic spoon mirrors were all the rage. A week or two ago I was racking my brain...

My Thankful Tree

My Thankful Tree

This year, as the girls are growing up, I really wanted a way to keep our hearts humble and grateful, and not just use Thanksgiving as the time to over eat and kill time before Christmas. I have really been enjoying the month of Thanks on Facebook – each day we share something we are thankful for. Its been really neat! I’ve been looking for ways to help the girls join in on Thanksgiving, more than just the day. If you are a Pinterest fan or hang out in the DIY/design blogger community, Thankful Trees are super popular this...
