Our girls, Izzie and Lucy are almost exactly 2 years apart in age – Izzie was born on February 11th and Lucy on January 24th. We just threw Lucy’s Bug party two weeks ago and then threw Izzie’s Brave party on Tuesday. So much fun but super intense. One day maybe we will have combined birthday parties…of maybe I will just need to tone down the parties! lol.The Decorations Izzie was insistent she wanted a “Merida” party ever since we bought the movie in November. Tuesday morning we hosted a bug party in honor of Lucy’s 2nd birthday party!This may have been my favorite party theme yet, and I didn’t even spend very much. Invitations I made these super cute invitations for the party using my printer and Silhouette. They turned out adorable and I designed it myself (no Pinterest inspiration here! lol). The downside – I made them a weird size so I didn’t have any envelopes to mail them. Oops. So I sent an email to the moms and gave them the invitation AT the party! #failDecorations Awhile...

Two years ago today, our beautiful Lucy Joyous came into the world.Our first, Izzie is a force of nature (like her Mama) – intense, passionate, loud, loves people and attention. From her first cry, we knew Lucy was different. She gave her cry, and then stopped to take in the world. Through blurry eyes, she gazed at her Daddy, the doctors and nurses who delivered her, and finally her Mommy. We were both so exhausted that we snuggled and dozed in and out of consciousness. Here we are at the hospital the moment Izzie and Lucy first...

My youngest daughter, Lucy (affectionately called Lulu) will be turning 2 on Thursday! Wow! She has gotten to be such a big girl, and one with strong opinions, like her Mama. She is a BIG fan of bumblebees, much to the thanks of the Laurie Berkner “Buzz Buzz” song. So this year’s birthday theme will be BUGS. I LOVE having two girls, mainly because I love hair, makeup, nails, clothes…and of course, jewelry. My girls are almost 2 and 4, so everything is scaled down to Target, Old Navy, and dollar section jewelry (I don’t think its worth it to buy expensive stuff and have it ruined, broken, lost, etc). Awhile ago, my crafty (and photographer) friend, Ruth showed me a fabric tutu she made for her daughter, and OMG was it cute! It was made the same way I made Lucy’s birthday tutu last year but made of fabric scraps instead of tulle.It was so simple and easy. Not as cheap as a tulle tutu but I could have made it for cheaper if I had shopped the clearance isles instead of just picking my favs. I made three skirts, one for Lucy, one for Izzie, and one for Izzie’s BFF for about $40 – about $13 each. I m so excited to share with you my children’s canvas and decor based on Micah 6:8! Over the past week, I worked hard to spruce up and make the space more casual and kid oriented. After organizing our kid crafts and learning materials last week, I went on a mission to decorate and craft with the kids. We had a blast, and now Izzie is a straight-up craft addict now. On friday, we did three crafts plus preschool work and she was begging for more. Who could blame her, though? Crafting rocks!
