Triple Bathroom Remodel Completed

October 8, 2012 | by Ethan (email) |

A couple of weeks ago Joe Bianco and his crew started a triple bathroom remodel project. If you remember, Mrs. Homeowner is a real estate broker, and she and her husband were preparing to put the house on the market. In addition to updating the bathrooms they re-shingled the roof, replaced all the windows, re-carpeted a significant portion of the house and more!  Joe and his crews have completed the three bathrooms, and the homeowners are very impressed with the results. They’ve even begun showing the house to prospective buyers.

Before

Here’s a look at the three bathrooms (demolition in the master bathroom had just started).

Plumbing Rough-In

After the demolition was complete, the plumbers came through to reroute pipes, move drains and complete the rough-in.

Electric Rough-In

Next up, the electricians came through to wire recessed lights, re-route cables, move switches and complete their rough-in.

Pouring the Shower Pans

It was really fascinating to see the tile guys pour the shower pans for the two showers.

Preparing and Laying Tile

After that, the tile guys went about installing concrete board, creating guidelines and setting tile.

Installing the Toilets

When the tile was set and grouted, the plumbers came back to install the toilets and shower hardware.

After

Here’s the big reveal after all new hardware, tile, vanities, lights, showers and tubs.

Look for our next Pro-Follow with Joe Bianco to start shortly, and I’ll be spending more time with the tile guys (Jim and Rich) too.

  1. Wow, those all turned out really well. Good follow Ethan! If it was my house or project the one thing I would have done differently is put the faucet for the master tub in a different location. It looks like a person almost has to climb in to reach the faucet. Kind of a hassle if you want to start filling the tub and then do something else like brush your teeth.

Did you give the bosch to the tile guys in exchange for a follow?

    • Ethan says:

That’s a good point Jeff, and originally the faucet / controls were on the opposite side right by the door.
I’m in the process of working out a project with the tile guys. I hope it’ll happen soon.

Big difference. I can understand the homeowners wanting to go neutral to sell, but I find the lack of color kind of blah. But that’s me.

I agree, but it still looks pretty good. The pictures show a decades wide step in time!

Yeah I thought the same thing. Not only that but now the rooms all look very similar to me. Before they at least had different personalities.

My favorite thing to see is the master shower. That was fascinating to see the process for.

I second that they turned out very well. Do you have any idea what it might cost the average joe to do the same thing per bathroom?

    They look great!

    Very Spa like

Wait a min did they do one side of the knob on the bathroom side chrome and then on the outside gold? Never seen that before but thats kinda smart.

    • Chris says:

My house has that too and I really don’t like it. While the door handles do match the fixtures in the bathroom, the two different color handles is just odd to me. Never does look right when the door is open. Top it off, now that I am changing the fixtures, the door handle doesn’t match anything. I am going to replace it as well with something neutral and not worry about matching the bathroom

Looking great. I love the master shower it turned out beautifully. Don’t know that I’d do the two-color knob, but it’d be a nice touch if it matched with the rest of the house. I also agree that it is very neutral, which is good for selling, maybe not so good for living. Works, though!

It looks great. It’s quite a transformation.
