The Price is Right: Yard Sale Edition

If you follow us on Facebook , you may have seen that I went yard sale-ing with a friend this past Saturday. It is by far one of my favorite things to do. What’s not to love? Cheap prices+friends+no kids = one happy mama!
Last summer, I tried to take the girls a few times (since Ethan is often busy on Saturday mornings with house stuff or blog work), but it was a bit of a disaster. Not to mention buckling the kids in and out of seat belts at every stop really slowed things down. So, I put this date on Ethan’s calendar and I went with no kids and had a blast!
When I go yard sale-ing with friends, we love to guess how great a price we paid. So I’ll share with you the great find,s and in the comments, you can guess what I paid. I’ll update the post later today to indicate what I paid and which reader guessed the best! Hope you play along!
So when I saw this, I wasn’t exactly sure where I was going to put it, but its super cute and in perfect condition. I was thinking it would be a good addition to Izzie’s or Lucy’s room as we switch things up in the coming months to give Lucy a big-girl room. Right now, it is sitting in Lucy’s room and both girls go in to sit and play on it.
So maybe I have a children’s chair addiction. I recently curbside claimed and then re-upholstered vintage chairs, plus I have a wooden chair waiting to refinish. And then I came home from yard sale-ing Saturday with two more kids chairs. Ethan was not thrilled. But who could say no to this adorable rocking chair? My mom and grandmother had similar rocking chairs for us when we were little, and I would love my girls to have one also.
I love these owls! Yes, as is, they aren’t anything amazing, but imagine some white spray paint…they are going to look awesome in my new kitchen!
I had been playing with the idea of putting a chalkboard in my new kitchen for weekly menus, reminders, and shopping lists. I hadn’t made a firm decision, but when I saw this, I figured I should go for it! Again, needs a little work, but I think its gonna be amazing!
I happened upon this basket after driving 5 -10 minutes off the main road, following signs that said HUGE yard sale. Once we found it, it was one townhouse and not a ton of stuff. I was a little peeved at first.
But, it turned out to be well worth the drive. The community is a new build in the last five years and VERY affluent. Everything at the sale was in perfect condition and fairly new (you know, not out of your grandparents basement).
This basket was holding a bunch of clothes for sale and still had the original price tag on it. I jumped at buying it and it is currently holding our over-flow of books in our living room.
Izzie LOVES Barbies, but prior to Saturday only had 3 Barbies, and one was headless. *shame* I came across a yard yale with bunches of Barbies and clothes and bought 2 Barbies, 2 little sister Barbies, and an entire case of clothes, shoes, and purses. It has kept both girls very busy, for sure!
Its not a big purchase or my best deal, but I like ‘em. Plus a lot of my re-useable bags that I bought several years ago are starting to fall apart.
This was not my purchase, but my friend, Kellie’s. If she hadn’t bought it, I would have for sure (even though I have no clue where I would put it, lol). It is huge, beautiful, and in perfect condition. This was another find at that ‘HUGE” yard sale where I found the white basket.
This again wasn’t the biggest or most wow-ing purchase, but I think will make a great seasonal mantel addition. I may add some flowers or small pumpkins, not sure yet.
If you haven’t heard, our weekly link parties are starting back up on friday and will be re-named “The Humble Brag.” We hope to see you there and look forward to seeing what projects and DIY you have been up to!
Can you guess the right price? Have you found any great deals at yard sales?
As Always, thanks for reading!
