The Humble Brag: Link Party #22

February 28, 2013 | by Jocie (email) |

Welcome back to another great link party, and Happy “its Almost the Weekend!” woot woot. Remember, one lucky, random link party goer will be chosen as our weekly ad space winner. Also, all the features will be pinned, and I try to post some throughout the week on FB and/ G+!

To fill you in a little on my week, I broke my camera lens!! I have no idea how it happened. I was taking pictures and all of a sudden, I was getting alerts that the lens was not attached to the camera. Ethan took a look and confirmed that the small latch that attached the lens to the camera was broken. SO SAD! I have avoided doing anything about because I am secretly hoping that there is a miracle and the lens magically heals itself.

So I haven’t been able to post many projects because I wasn’t able to take pix. The short-term fix is that I will borrow Kim’s camera for a while (Thanks, Kim). In the mean time, I have been painting our dining room and stay tuned for some seriously cool related projects!

Some Bragworthy Projects

We had another awesome link party last week filled with so much inspiration. Here were a few of my faves:

Tanya from twelveOeight is always doing amazing and creative projects, and while I have seen a lot of DIY apothecary jars on Pinterest, these are by far my favorite! Don’t be surprised when you see some in my redesigned dining room.

Anne from White Lace Cottage shared her flower arrangement inside a birdcage. GENIUS! Why didn’t I think of that? Now I definitely need to go buy a big birdcage (although I have recently been hoarding bunches of small ones).

I am a super picky eater, but surprisingly I love salmon and also mango salsa. Really, I’m kinda a pain in the a**. Beth from The First Year Blog shares her recipe for Grilled Salmon with Mango Avocado Salsa. Oh man, does that sound amazing!

When I was looking at each of the linked up projects, I fist saw this from Sheila from Plum Doodles and thought, “oh that’s a nice job painting and re-upholstering.” But then, I read the post and realized she stenciled the fabric herself!!!! WHAT?!?!? That is crazy awesome!

So I kinda hate Keri from Shaken Together Life. I mean she’s sweet and thoughtful and incredibly awesome, but does she have to rock at everything?!?! 😉 Seriously, here are a few Easter projects and easy teacher gift ideas. Check her out if you haven’t already.

We at OPC love a good before and after, and if you didn’t know I love GREEN! I mean, love. Especially Kelley Green. Check out this awesome bathroom transformation from Miranda at Pressing On.

Last but certainly not least, Melissa from the Happier Homemaker shares her absolutely amazing and beautiful Rainbow Cupcakes. I’m totally going to find an excuse to make these.

Our #1 Brag!

If you didn’t already know, every week we feature one lucky party participant in our sidebar as the Weekly Brag. Think of it as our way of saying thanks for linking up, and we hope you come back every Friday. To play fair, we always use random.org to select the winner. Out of 79 linked up projects, number 4 was chosen – Danielle from Sew Much Crafting! Danielle shares her monthly and weekly meals plans – woah, she rocks. It’s great for lazy meal planners like me.

Bragging Rules

The Humble Brag is all about encouraging one another in our pursuits (and sometimes even fails). We’re excited to see what you have been up to in your crafting/DIY world. We also welcome recipes and other projects. I will be visiting each and every link over the coming week, so bring it on!

We ask that you:

  • Please grab a button or link back to this post (although not required, we appreciate the love)
  • Link directly to your article
  • Don’t link to a shop, store or giveaway

Make sure to check back next week to see if your project has been featured and thanks for sharing.

Remember, please post a button or text link back to our party somewhere in your original post. We hope you also take the time to click on one or two other party-goers projects and give some encouragement.

Great features…those rainbow cupcakes are amazing looking. Thanks for hosting the party. I have had a similar issue with one of my camera lenses….mine is still temperamental, but works occasionally. I fortunately have more than one lens, so I’m OK…but it just stinks sometimes. So glad you have someone who can loan you one too! :O)
