The Humble Brag: Link Party #24

March 14, 2013 | by Jocie (email) |

Hey friends! Thanks for coming back for another great link party, where we get to see what other great things our blogger friends have been up to and feature a few of the most stand-out projects! Last week, we also had a extra-special giveaway! woot woot.

This week has been a rough one…the stomach flu has hit our house and both our girls have been sick. I feel a bit like I’m holding on by a thread. I really shouldn’t complain, after all, its the first time ever the girls have been sick and we’ve had some sweet snuggles on the couch watching Disney princess movies. But as a result, I was not able to comment on each of your projects! Please know I clicked on every single one and pinned a bunch (and I promise to do better next week).

But before the flu hit I was able to finish up Lucy’s big girl bed using ASCP, which I can happily saw cleans up well! haha

Giveaway Winners!

As a part of last week’s party, we gave away a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com. Out of 166 entries, Jessi from Practically Functional was our winner (chosen at random by Rafflecopter for her link party email subscription entry). And that’s not all….Jessi, along with ALL OF OUR FEATURES will be mailed an OPC Better Half t-shirt!

Some Bragworthy Projects

We had another awesome link party last week filled with so much inspiration. If you are one of these fab features, be sure to email me your mailing address and t-shirt size so I can mail your shirt!! 🙂

Did you celebrate Pi Day?? Making a whole pie seems a lot, but I could really put a hurting on these Pi Cookies (really, mini pies) from Kim at Soliloquy of Food and Such!

Tanya at twelve0eight is a genius…really, a genius. I have been trying to figure out a cheap solution for a buffet in our redesigned dining room and don’t be surprised if you see this! What a fabulous upcycled sofa table!

Allyson may be my Domestic Superhero with this creative and thrifty DIY Tufted Ikat Ottoman made from a pallet! PLus, I am in love with all her fabulous fabric choices.

Can you tell I love pallets? This sweet little pallet sign from Takin’ Time to Smell The Roses is so fun!

Jacque from the DIY Village shares her FAB rolling storage from upcycled wine crates. Seriously, where can I get some of these wine crates?!

Nothing says “Spring” like Lemon and Blueberry Butter Cake…well, maybe it says “food coma” more than “spring,” but either way it looks amazing! Thanks so much for sharing, Mary Beth at Cupcakes and Crinoline!

I’m diggin’ the reclaimed wood this week…or maybe my Diet Coke addiction has hit a new low. But I really love this vintage soda crate garden by Charming Zebra!

Our #1 Brag!

If you didn’t already know, every week we feature one lucky party participant in our sidebar as the Weekly Brag. Think of it as our way of saying thanks for linking up, and we hope you come back every Friday. To play fair, we always use random.org to select the winner. Out of 79 linked up projects, number 14 was chosen. Trish from Mom on Time Out linked up her amazing Mom Cave! What a great idea – I need a Mom Cave where I can hide from sick kids, laundry, and toys on the floor. lol.

Bragging Rules

The Humble Brag is all about encouraging one another in our pursuits (and sometimes even fails). We’re excited to see what you have been up to in your crafting/DIY world. We also welcome recipes and other projects. I will be visiting each and every link over the coming week, so bring it on!

We ask that you:

  • Please grab a button or link back to this post (although not required, we appreciate the love)
  • Link directly to your article
  • Don’t link to a shop, store or giveaway

Make sure to check back next week to see if your project has been featured and thanks for sharing.

Grab a Button

Remember, please post a button or text link back to our party somewhere in your original post. We hope you also take the time to click on one or two other party-goers projects and give some encouragement.

Thanks for posting. As a high school math teacher, of course I celebrated pi day! I indulged in a cherry pi(e) with a pi symbol on top. Wish I had gotten a pic! Next silly holiday: Star Wars day (May the Fourth). Also, I made those gluten-free Thin Mint cookies that The First Year blog posted a couple weeks ago (actually, she posted the Samoas, but the Thin Mints are more my speed). Very tasty!! If you read this, The FIrst year, thanks for the recipe!
