Hanging Succulent Terrarium / Garden

Hanging Succulent Terrarium / Garden

I know, you are shocked to see me blogging about a succulent garden wall hanging…really a mason jar terrarium. I’m pretty shocked myself. Kim is our resident gardener and I prefer my plants to be of the plastic variety. Its pretty hard to kill a plastic plant, although if anyone could do it, it would be me and my girls! I gave gardening a try a few weeks ago when I was asked  to partner with Home Depot on their Do-It-Herself Workshop: Succulent Gardens Inspired by Pinterest. In addition to sharing this succulent garden...

DIY Chapstick with Essential Oils!

DIY Chapstick with Essential Oils!

In my house, we go through a lot of Chapstick. I mean, a lot. I’d like to blame it on the kids and their over-extending of the Chapstick into the cap, but I am just as guilty of accidentally putting them through the wash and dryer. Not to mention, I’d often end up grabbing one of Izzie’s HelloKitty cheapo chapsticks out of desperation, which just made my lips feel even more chapped. Argh. The sheer volume and expense for quality Chapstick seemed a bit ridiculous! So, I made my own DIY Chapstick and it was so so easy,...

Rhonna Designs Inspired Painted Chair

Who doesn’t love a painted chair? I mean, I obviously do…I’ve painted my dining room chairs multiple times and love a good excuse to make a colorful change!Well, my neighbor, who may be a hoarder, was getting rid of this children’s wooden chair a year (probably longer) ago and offered it to me. At the same time, she gave me some vintage metal chairs that I rehabbed and gave to a friend. The wooden chair had good bones and I would have loved to keep it wood toned, but there was just too much damage and staining.Anyway,...

Leprechaun Bark: A St Patrick’s Day Dessert!

I’m baaaaaack! It’s Keri from Shaken Together! I sure hope you don’t mind me crashing at Jocie’s place once a month. At least I bring dessert, right?! When I was brain storming for this month’s contributor post, I did a little research. I mean it is March after all. ‘Tis the month for soda bread and mutton, corned beef and cabbage, a pint of Guinness and a tea cake. I contemplated a recipe using gorgeous sharp Irish cheddar cheese and debated about making colcannon, a hearty potato and kale dish. But,...

Throw a Winter Birthday Party without Breaking the Bank!

Throw a Winter Birthday Party without Breaking the Bank!

Boy, is it hard to come up with toddler birthday party ideas for winter! Lucy’s birthday is at the end of January and Izzie’s at the beginning of February, and every year it gets harder to host parties. Some years my mom has hosted. Other years, I have just had a few toddlers over to the house on a weekday so it cuts down on the amount of people (no husbands or siblings). Our house is just to small for a big party. But hosting out of the home is so expensive! But this year I resolved to not have parties in the house and not...

DIY Birch Branch Jewelry Box

DIY Birch Branch Jewelry Box

Sometimes the fun and messy world of creative projects means needing to remove my wedding ring. In fact I once left my ring on underneath my gloves while staining some wood, but when I went to clean the brush I was no longer wearing the gloves, and the stain sorta dripped down onto my ring. Yikes! I nearly had a heart attack, but luckily it was nothing a little vinegar and a baking soda couldn’t fix up.I wanted a special place to store my rings and being that I’m all about rustic decor, I decided a birch branch jewelry box...

Luck O’ The Irish with Americana Chalky Finish Paint!

Have you heard that DecoArt came out with a new line of Americana Chalky Finish Paint?!?! I have been super excited about it and they were nice enough to send me some to try out! While the product was free, there were no strings attached, so be sure, opinions are 100% my own.Americana Chalky Finish Paint If you haven’t caught on to the newest trend, there are all sorts of fab new furniture paints that can go on a variety of surfaces, like wood, plastic, and glass without priming (like Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, which I love). Craftin’ like its 1999 with Michael’s and Hometalk

If you didn’t see last week’s big announcement – I was super privileged to be a Hometalk Ambassador at Michael’s Pinterest Inspired Party this past Sunday! It was one serious craft party and was sooooo much fun. Here were a few of the girls who were still there at the end when I remembered to get a group shot, but as you can tell, we were a good looking’ group of women! To start, I was lucky enough to team up with the Michael’s where I shop (way to frequently, Ethan would say). Judy was our point person...
